Critical ThoughtsConflicted Thoughts came from a line in Love Can Change the World, a song I co-wrote with Greg Newlon and released on our album of the same name in 2011. It’s about noticing our momentary shortcomings and reminding ourselves that positive change comes from within.
The second verse begins "I see the world in black and white, and rarely hear the gray." That internal conflict became the inspiration for Conflicted Thoughts. All materials used are either upcycled or repurposed. We stumble, we reach out, we help each other. We're the ones who can change the world – each one of us. And each time we lead with love, that positive change is one step closer. Partial list of upcycled materials: Fishing net, metal water bottle, bird netting, paint roller, printable DVD, bass guitar strings, acoustic guitar string random woven sphere. heated Tyvek, garden weed cloth, garden shade cloth, strapping from shipping container, liner of discarded suitcase, thrifted and upcycled satin, linen, denim, cotton and interfacing. |
